Drink selection won’t vend

1. Confirm the machine is powered on.
2. Clear any errors if possible.
3. Check dispensing area for a jam (prevents motors from turning).
4. Remove jam and test vend a product to reset motor
5. Use the “Test Vend” option to prove motors are connected and turning correctly.
6. If motor is not turning correctly check if it is connected correctly or if there is a jam somewhere.
7. Check the Motor itself to see if it is wired correctly or any wires arre damaged.
8. Replace Motor or wiring harness if needed.

1. Confirm the machine is powered on.
2. Clear any errors if possible.
3. Confirm that he dispensing coil is firmly attached to the vend motor and turns when the motor turns.
4. Use the “Test Vend” options to prove motor is connected and turning correctly.
5. If motor is not turning correctly check if it is connected correctly or if there is a jam somewhere
6. Check the motor itself to see if it is wired correctly or an y wires are damaged.
7. Replace motor or wiring harness if needed.
8. Some machines have a plug on the back of the drawer where it connects to the machine, confirm this is seated correctly and is free of corrosion. Corrosion can interrupt the signal between the drawer and the machine.
9. Clean corrosion with 70% isopropyl alcohol and fine grit sandpaper
10. Confirm the drawer is aligned correctly on the drawer guides, if the alignment is off, the drawer may not connect to the machine.
Machine won’t accept coins
▼
▲
1. Confirm machine is powered on.
2. Clear any error if possible.
3. Clean the coin pathway and remove any jams. Sometimes inappropriate coins or other items are placed in the coin pathway.
4. Removed the coin mechanism and check the magnets and the coin pathway for dust or jams
5. Clean the magnets and coin pathway with 70% isopropyl alcohol
6. Clean the coin tubes and dispensing tubes as well. This can get jammed and prevent change from being dispensed to customers.
7. Confirm the coin mechanism is wired correctly and the wires are not damaged.
8. Replace the coin mechanism if necessary.
- Coin mechanisms can usually be repaired by manufacturer.
9. Replace the control board
- Software can get corrupted over time and the board will not function properly.
Machine won’t accept bills

▲
1. Confirm the machine powered on.
2. Clear any errors if possible.
3. Check the bill pathway in the validator for a bill jam
4. The validator will usually have a blink code on the back to inform you where the problem is.
5. Confirm the sensors are clean and free of dust.
6. You usually remove the sensors from the back, clean with 70% isopropyl alcohol or water.
7. Confirm the belts and rollers are not damaged.
8. Belts can stretch over time and cause the rollers to slip when attempting to accept a bill.
10. Confirm the coin mechanism is functioning correctly, the coin mechanism will disable the bill validator if there is a problem.
11. Replace the bill validator
12. Bill validator can usually be repaired by manufacturer.
13. Replace the control board
- Software can get corrupted over time and the board will not function correctly.
Machine won’t cool
▼
▲
1. Confirm the machine has power. Confirm the compressor deck has power as well.
2. Feel the bottom of the compressor, if it feels cool to the touch it is likely not powering on. Perform a relay test on your machine and listen to see if the compressor turns on. It will make a gentle rumbling sound and it will fell like it is vibrating. If the compressor does not turn on, try replacing your start capacitor. These can be purchased fairly cheap. Each new start capacitor has a diagram of where to attach the new wires to your compressor.
3. If the compressor feels warm to the touch, it is powering on, but it is not powering off. Check your evaporator fans (where the cool air blows) to see if it iced over. De-ice the evaporator fans and check your thermostat to confirm if it is turning the compressor on and off as expected. Replace the thermostat or start capacitor if needed. Sometimes Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) start capacitors include the thermostat (as opposed to third party start capacitors). Replace the start capacitor with a new OEM start capacitor from the manufacturer.
4. Check that the condenser fan (where the deck blows hot air away from the machine) is spinning properly. Fans will wear out and stop spinning over time. Try lubricating the fan with WD-40 to see if that loosens it. Try replacing the fan with a new fan.
5. If all that fails, you will have to call an HVAC specialist to see about refilling the refrigerant level in your compressor deck. Refrigerant can evaporate over time and affect the unit’s ability to cool. Only a licensed HVAC technician can refill refrigerant.
Display won’t respond when a selection is pressed

▲
1. Depress all buttons on your display to clear any possible button jams.
2. Clear errors on your machine if possible.
3. Power Cycle the machine, it is possible the machine is stuck in a software loop.
4. Confirm the wiring harness for the button selections is connected correctly and undamaged.
5. This part can be replaced but may difficult to find if the machine is no longer being manufactured.
6. Replace the control board
7. Software can get corrupted over time and the board will not function correctly.
Machine is icing over

1. Confirm that all the seals are seated correctly
2. Doors not fully closed can leave a gap in the seal, this allows humidity into the machine which can freeze on the evaporator coils.
3. Confirm the compressor on your refrigeration deck is powering on and off correctly.
4. See “Machine Won’t Cool” for help with compressors.
5. Confirm the temperature set point for your thermostat is correct.
6. Temperatures set too low can cause humidity in the air to freeze onto the evaporator coils.
Machine double vends drinks or snacks

1. Check the spacers for your selection, make sure they are set to the correct depth. If a spacer is missing it could cause your machine to double vend.
2. Confirm that the motor timing is correct. If a motor turns too much it will double vend.
3. Clean the drop sensors where product dispenses. If the sensor is dirty to will not see product vend and continue to turn the motor.
